Characteristics
  • This product is severely cold worked to produce 100,000 psi minimum yield strengths. It can therefore compete for application and use in parts normally requiring heat treated alloy grades in the HB range 235/277. The bars are stress relieved to minimize warpage. The sulphur content enhances machinability. C1144 has excellent induction hardening properties. Welding is not recommended. Conforms to ASTM A311, Class B. Available in cold drawn and precision ground surface finishes
Typical Applications
  • Arbors, keyed shafts, spindles, gears, pinions, pump shafts, machined parts in wide variety
